Padstow Cycling - The Camel Trail
The Camel Trail is a dedicated cycle path that runs from Padstow, via Wadebridge, to the gorgeous village of Blisland on Bodmin Moor. Laid on the bed of a disused railway, it offers flat, easy cycling through some absolutely wonderful countryside. The more active among you may wish to cycle the entire trail - 17 miles each way! Most people stick to the Padstow to Wadebridge section - 6 miles each way - with pubs at either end! But if you want to enjoy The Camel Trail at its tranquil, rural, peaceful best - visit Blisland. Here you can enjoy a meal and a pint at the award winning Blisland Inn. Click here for where to stay in Blisland.

Padstow Golf For those who like to play a round St Enodoc Golf Course is one of Britain's finest golf courses! English Poet Laureate, Sir John Betjeman played here often, and wrote his famous poem "Seaside Golf." He is buried in the churchyard of tiny St Enodoc Church - beside the 10th fairway.
Padstow Beaches If just relaxing is your thing - the Padstow Beaches are excellent. Caution - Padstow is on an estuary and the current here can be strong and dangerous. If you want to swim in the ocean, choose a beach with lifeguard patrols - and stay within the patrolled areas. The coast path north of Padstow takes you to fabulous string of beaches including St Georges Cove, Harbour Cove, and Hawkers Cove. The walk from Padstow to St Georges Cove takes about 20 minutes and is well worth the trouble if you want to escape the crowds. There are also great views from the coast path - every step of the way.
Padstow Hotels There are some wonderful hotels in Padstow. My favourite Padstow hotels are The St Enodoc Hotel (just across the estuary at Daymer Bay), and The Cross House Hotel - ideally located in the heart of Old Padstow. But there are several other great hotels in and near Padstow to choose from. Padstow Guest Houses There are some truly excellent Padstow guest houses and guest houses near Padstow - take a look! Padstow Self Catering Self-Catering in Padstow is a great idea for families. The Padstow area has a variety of family-friendly self-catering accommodation. There are also some wonderful tranquil self-catering cottages - ideal for couples. We recommend Hockadays Cottages at Blisland. Lovely cottages - and exceptional value!
Camel Trail between Padstow & Wadebridge
Padstow Padstow has two claims to world fame... Padstow's Rick Stein, the best television chef of them all, lives and works here. And The Padstow Obby-Oss Festival in May - when Padstow turns into Cornwall's answer to Rio! I first came to Padstow 30 years ago - and I have been a regular visitor ever since. Things have changed quite a bit during those 30 years - Padstow has been "discovered". Padstow used to be a sleepy fishing village with great scenery but not much else. Nowadays Padstow is a genuine upmarket holiday resort. Padstow restaurants (and not just those run by Mr Stein) are superb. Padstow offers a variety of accommodation - from cozy bed and breakfasts, to first class hotels. Fortunately, Padstow still has its village atmosphere - and some of its fishing fleet.
